1. General Information

Program Title: International Practical Internship in Import & Export
Organizer: AITSEAC Academy — a practical business platform of the Association of International Trade of Southeast Asia and China (AITSEAC)
Internship Base: Export-import companies, international offices, and AITSEAC partner organizations
Format: On-site practical business internship
Duration: 2 weeks
Participant Profile: Entrepreneurs, international trade specialists, logistics professionals, brand owners, exporters, and importers
Age: 18+
Working Languages: Russian / English / Chinese

The program is implemented in a practical internship format and is aimed at developing applied skills in international trade through participation in real business processes.

2. Internship Goals and Objectives

The goal of the program is to provide participants with a structured and practical understanding of international trade based on the practices used by major international trading companies, industry associations, and corporate export departments.

The internship focuses on mastering international rules, standards, and procedures applied in global trade, followed by their practical implementation in real projects.

Key objectives:
• mastering international trade rules and contract models (Incoterms® 2020, trade customs, basic contract structures)
• understanding risk, responsibility, and cost distribution between transaction parties
• developing skills in calculating a full trade deal financial model
• studying international requirements for export-import operations
• improving decision-making skills in cross-border transactions

3. Program Implementation Principles

• participation in active company projects
• mentorship from supervisors
• focus on results, not theory

The program does not involve classical academic training or lecture-based courses.

4. Internship Structure

The internship follows the logic of international foreign trade training programs and includes advanced practical modules.

Block 1. International Trade Rules & Import Operations

Participants study and apply in practice:
• Incoterms® 2020 rules: EXW, FCA, FOB, CIF, CIP, DAP, DDP — application scope, risk and cost allocation
• choosing optimal delivery terms based on market, product, and logistics
• structure of international trade contracts (subject, price, delivery, payment, liability)
• basic international payment models: bank transfer, prepayment, deferred payment, documentary instruments (overview)
• regulatory requirements for imports into China and Southeast Asia: certification, technical regulations, customs clearance
• import cost modeling including duties, taxes, logistics, and operational expenses

Block 2. Export Operations & International Supply Management

Practical competencies include:
• analysis of production regions and industry clusters
• supplier evaluation based on international standards: legal structure, licenses, export rights, compliance
• preparation of export documentation: commercial invoice, packing list, contract, certificates
• selection of logistics routes and transportation schemes
• risk management in international shipments: currency, logistics, contractual, geopolitical
• basics of international quality control and inspections

5. Intern’s Practical Activities

During the internship, the participant:
• performs daily work tasks
• conducts business correspondence with factories and partners
• analyzes commercial offers
• participates in supplier verification
• prepares calculations and analytical materials
• takes part in ongoing company projects

6. Individual Project

Each participant develops an individual international project that includes:
• selection of a product category
• target market analysis
• partner selection and verification
• cost and logistics calculations
• export-import business model
• 3-month implementation plan

The project is practical and can be implemented after the internship.

7. Internship Outcomes

Upon completion, the participant gains:
• practical international trade skills
• structured understanding of import-export processes
• experience in an international business environment
• a ready-made trade project model
• professional business contacts

8. Final Documents

After completing the internship, the participant receives:
• AITSEAC Academy Internship Certificate
• confirmation of participation in an international internship (upon request)
